Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) is a great scientist who challenged religion by championing heileo centric theory. He books were banned and he was imprisoned. He wrote science in Italian language and brought closer to the people. The inquisition of Galileo exposed the weakness of the catholic church in challenging the emerging science.
